Price was born in Sgan gwaii (Ninstints) in the Saagi qiirawaay (Eagle) clan and moved to Skidegate in the 1880s. According to C.F. Newcombe, "he was Chief Taan of Ninstints, and among his crests was the five-finned blackfish" (Drew 1980). A master carver of jewelry, plates and platters, poles, and boxes.
