George Clutesi was raised in a time when the 'Indian way' was condemned; he was educated in a missionary school. When he left school, it was important to him to revive his culture. He is a member of the Wolf Clan of the Tseshaht tribe. Clutesi has written and illustrated a number of books and has always considered himself First Nation.
