George Elwood Mather, Sr. was a Tsimshian artist from Ketchikan and New Metlakatla, Alaska. He was the son of one of the original Tsimshian founders who moved from Old Metlakatla, BC, to Alaska, with Rev. William Duncan. He was a carver for most of his life.
