Adele Peter's maiden name was Joseph and she was originally from a Sto:lo community just above Hope. She lived her married life at Chehalis where she taught the art of basket making to her two daughters Joan Chapman and Minnie Leon. Two of Adele's grandchildren, Bruce Chapman and Monica Leon, have also learned the art of basket making.
