American anthropologist John D. LeRoy. BA, Oberlin College, 1966; MA, University of Michigan, 1968. LeRoy conducted field research in 1970-1972 with the Kewa people, in the Southern Highlands province of Papua New Guinea. His PhD thesis (UBC, Anthropology, 1975) was called "Kewa Reciprocity: Cooperation and Exchange in a New Guinea Highland Culture." Over 100 photographs from the research trip are in the digital library collection at the University of California, San Diego. Professor at UBC in 1976.
