Ed Sparrow was born at Musqueam. He attended the Coqualeetza Indian Residential School in Sardis, BC. He married Rose George of Kohkwaplat (Chilliwack) and they had eleven children, 38 grandchildren, and 84 great-grandchildren. He was a commercial fisherman, with several gillnet boats, and was Chief of the Musqueam Indian Band in 1942, 1954-58. Sparrow was also involved with the creation of the Native Brotherhood. His life history is recorded in his granddaughter Leona Sparrow's Master of Arts thesis.
