Gloves Item Number: D1.68 a-b from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Pair of beige hide gloves, or gauntlets, with flared opening. The top of both are covered in embroidery of red roses, blue birds and greenery. A hide fringe hangs down from the outer side of each glove.
Place of origin unknown. Said to have come from the donor's husband, Frank Ross, the Lieutenant Governor of BC. D1.67 and D1.68 were originally listed as 'Blackfoot' / 'Interior BC'. However the floral beadwork indicates a possible Metis influence, or maker?
