Description

Vertical painting on animal hide depicting four human figures. The central figure is wearing a large crown on their head and is holding a smaller figure who has a circle (halo) behind their head, which is the same colour as the crown. The figure being held is carrying a red book-like object with a cross on it in their left hand, while their other hand is pointed at the crowned figure. Two small, winged angel-like figures are positioned on either side of the crowned and haloed figures. These angel-like figures appear to emerge from a brown oblong oval shape with a black outline and yellow and white details, which is positioned behind the crowned and haloed figures. There is red Ethiopian text on the viewer's right side, below the brown shape and next to the crowned and haloed figures. There is a small numbered label written in ink on the lower right corner of the front of the skin.

Collected by Fred Haack while living in Africa. Acquired by the Kelowna Museum (now Okanagan Heritage Museum) in 1996.
