Painting Item Number: 3595/66 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Horizontal painting on animal hide depicting three human figures. The left and centre figures are holding large pestle-like objects above a large mortar-like object positioned between the two figures. The figure on the right is holding a jug and pouring a blue liquid from it into another jug. In the background behind the centre and right figures is a hut-like building. Three sections of Ethiopian text are positioned above the hut on the left and right sides and to the right of the jug with liquid being poured into it. There is a numbered label written in ink or pencil on the lower right side of the back of the skin.
Collected by Fred Haack while living in Africa. Acquired by the Kelowna Museum (now Okanagan Heritage Museum) in 1996.
