Description
Rectangular earthenware water basin with bay front, flat base, straight sides and wide rim, high shaped back. Painted overall is a landscape with fishermen on the back. There are similar landscapes on exterior sides and centre front. Other planes have floral sprays, foliage, scrolls.
History Of Use
This basin would have been accompanied by a water fountain.

The influences of Italy, Germany, and Delft in the Netherlands can be seen in the floral motifs, the pastoral scene, and the use of blue dashes and scale designs along the rim of the basin.
