Neck RingA7950

Three long strips of woven cedar bark, joined lengthwise by stitching to create a wide, belt-like band; each strip is formed by four chains linked together. Ends are bound with skin. Three cedar tassels hang from each end.

Plain brown wood rattle consisting of two rounded pieces put together, each with a semi-cylindrical handle, creating a full rounded oval rattle. Along either sides of each piece, there are four holes. Pieces are bound together at the top by green string going through two holes along each top side and creating an x form on one side. Handle is bound with brown string.

Mask with a cedar bark fringe over a frame made from bent twigs, and with parts of the design in copper. The mask is painted in red, green and black with copper nailed to the centre of the forehead, the eyebrows, the eyes, the lower cheeks from the sides of the nose to the jaw, and the outer edges of the lips.

Bi-pointed DaggerA4033

Dagger that is double-ended and each blade double-edged. One blade is much shorter than the other. Concave blades, each with double ridges on upper surface. The handle is wrapped in leather and bound with cord.

RattleA4028

Brown wood rattle consisting of two rounded pieces put together, each with a semi-cylindrical handle, creating a full rounded oval rattle. Along either sides of each piece, there are two holes to bind the two pieces together with white string. Pieces are also bound together at the top with white string. Handle is bound with brown string. Designs consisting of a face on both side, one carved and the other in pencil. The carved face has a circle in oval eye, a downward pointing triangular nose, and a horizontal double oval mouth from which three diagonal bands angle upward at either side. Eyebrows are pencilled in as are the split u's at either outer sides of the eyes. The pencilled face has tapering oval in double ovoid eyes with brows above, an oblong shape along the cheeks, and an open mouth with fourteen teeth and a tongue sticking out.

Carved wooden sisiutl headdress is in 3 pieces that are attached with wire. Two side pieces are nailed to a thick circular leather band. Sisiutl face has red horns (parts b and c) and snake faces have red tongues that stick out the rear of the headdress. All have green around eyes.

Raven rattle composed of two complementary parts. On the raven's back is a sea otter and a frog. The belly is decorated with a bird's face with recurved beak. Painted in red and black.

Mask that has been carved on a forward slant, giving it an angular appearance. The mask is painted white with pursed red lips, a hooked nose with red nostrils, and semi-circular eyes. Two half crescents raised on each side of cheeks are painted black. Tufts of cedar bark fringe are attached at the sides and longer strands of cedar bark extend down the back of the mask below the chin. Off-white feathers protrude upwards from the top of the head.
