Small child's brown moccasin-style shoes with woven leather uppers, molded leather soles and turned up toes. Ankle straps with silver buckles. Uppers and soles stitched together with a leather thong. Right and left soles are slightly different colours. Waxed and polished. "9" or "6" written on the right shoe in ball point? ink. Undecipherable figure on the sole of the left shoe.

Four-lobe shaped metal sword guard with raised gold rim, nanako (minute raised dots) background; seppa dai of highly polished shakudo, unsigned, shows chiseled adjustment marks; open kodzuka, no kogai. Front: pattern of chrysanthemums, cherries, and butterflies, in low relief overlaid in gold, stems in polished shakudo. Back: similar pattern.

Two mermaid-like ivory figures (b-c) are pegged to a flat, cross-section of antler (a). Both figures have fan-like tails, humanoid faces, crosshatched braids on back and small pectoral fins. B is lying out straight, while c has head turned and tail is on its edge.

Pair of leather sandals. Soles are flat, rounded at toes, sides straight narrowing to square heel; three holes punched through soles, one close to top, one on either side close to heel; grey-white strap passes through hole at top and is knotted on on underside, it is looped through outside hole close to heel and then through inside hole close to heel, length left between holes to form heel support, remainder of strap is loose.

Black leather stylized representation of a figure in a dramatic dance pose, one leg stands on a snake-like creature while the other is raised to the waist. One arm holds a bow and the other an arrow over a tall tiered crown. The figure and the surrounding halo is cut out with an overall pattern to give a lace-like effect.

Brass container (a) with lid (b); compressed sphere-shaped pot on single ring foot, round spout affixed at mid-point, bail handle attached to two lugs at flat shoulder. On one side are three punched Chinese characters which transcribe as 'longevity', 'as is' and 'mountain'; on opposite are engraved and punched intersecting medallions, one has a flower design, the other a bird. Turning marks are visible under base, with three Chinese characters representing 'three' and 'middle' at centre. Lid has flange, straight slightly slanted sides, a flat top with knob and engraved and punched flowers.

Shadow PuppetEf227 a-b

Leather cut-out shadow puppet representing Surgriva, the Monkey King. The figure is a monkey with red skin dressed in military costume with a twisted black and white turban, thick red, black, and natural brown coloured necklaces, and chest ornaments from which a large red heart shape is suspended. Has sharp fangs, a striped moustache, and beard. Four moveable limbs. Feet are not matching. One foot (part b) is detached, has five toes, and an anklet around its red skin. Colours also include green.

Shadow PuppetEf226 a-b

A shadow puppet of leather cut out, representing a female figure; dyed black and two shades of red. Costume (part a) is elaborately patterned with black vertical stripes alternating with bands of tiny black incised flowers. Both arms (part a) are jointed at shoulders, elbows, and wrists. Removable head (part b) with a profile face, a nose pin, and numerous flower decorations with an elaborate headdress, does not appear to be matched with the body, which is older, and of a more intricate style. Jointed feet also appear to be replacements.
