Purple and pink-dyed, plaited palm-leaf, cylindrical container. Flat ends where four peaks have been formed by looping over the coloured strips of palm leaf. A piece of split palm stalk, pointed at one end, has been pushed through.Two palm leaf strips, one yellow, the other purple, have been plaited into a honeycomb-like strip, applied over the pointed top, and fastened below onto the split bamboo handle. Two strips of purple are bound over the top and wrapped around the handle.

Wickerwork basket, roughly rectangular in shape, of natural coloured red bud and willow plaited in alternating horizontal bands. The lower third (approx.) is plaited in double strands. The top and bottom edges are of wrapped strands.

Large plaited mat of plant fibre. Design is created by pattern of the weave in natural coloured fibre, a checkerboard effect being created. Mat is fine, flexible, cool to touch. One side is polished.

Small straw mat of coarse weave. Pattern of weave is sole decoration. Colour is natural. Warp cord is visible at one end where tied off.

Rectangular mat in plait and twill weave with coiled borders. Mat is made of natural green to light brown cane with yellow cane supports on the sides, and rattan wrapped borders.

Miniature winnowing basket. Shallow, and round. Twilled, and plaited in light yellow, and brown cane fibres with a hoop under the rim (in and out). Border is plain wrapped with light yellow-white plant fibre. Wrapped hook on one side with a cane strip, round, and stiff, with tie.

Medium wicker work basket with a raised foot. Diagonal supplementary weaving in light yellow-brown over parts of the basket, creating two upward pointing pairs of chevrons, one at either side, surrounded by an elongated vertical zig zag and a vertical band comprising diagonal stitches at either side. Foot is wrapped and plaited about 1 inch high. The handle is two strips of tightly wrapped grasses. Two vertical rows of cord are sewn in long stitches at the ends of the handles.

Shoe consisting of heavy bark strips plaited into closed, pointed toe, a square back and a long mouth for slip-on style. No. '6178' written in black marker on inner, upper heel.
