Calligraphy ScrollN1.246

A hanging scroll of calligraphy with one panel of large characters by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen and two panels of smaller characters above, and below. There are seven red seals: two on each of the smaller panels, one on the large panel, and two off to the side of the large panel. The scroll has a cream-coloured border of fabric. There is a semi-cylindrical rod at the top with a brown cord bound by metal wire and cream-coloured fabric with a beige fabric ribbon. There is a cylindrical rod weight at the bottom covered with pink, blue, and light patterned fabric.

Copy of an older original painting by Wen Zhengming. The scene shows two men, the artist (Wen Zhengming) and his student Wang Chong, bidding farewell in a farmer’s garden. Colours in the image are brown, green, pink, and grey. A pale yellow-beige coloured silk damask cloth, with cloud patterns, frames the image. Red Chinese characters in both bottom corners, and red and black characters in upper left corner.

White bowl (part a) with red and blue linear designs and figures. Central, circular panel features a deer and an elderly man--symbols of longevity. Exterior of bowl has nine figures in blue and white on a red spiral ground. The red enamel has been applied thickly and evenly. (Part b is a circular wooden stand with five curving feet - in storage.)
