Reindeer fur mittens (part a-b) are lined with wool and edged with leather. The fur is a mixture of light brown, dark brown and white. The mittens are lined with brown wool (knit in k2p2 ribbing). There is brown leather sewn around the edge of the wrist opening. There is a small leather tie attached to one side of each mitten.
A pair of blue and off-white, hand-knitted anklet socks. The tops are made with off-white plain stockinette stitch, finished with four rows of garter stitch at the cuff; extending about 16 cm. above the ankle. The feet are bright blue worked in stockinette stitch with horizontal patches of fair isle pattern in off-white.
Flat bag, rectangular, bottom corners rounded. Made of bark fibre kitted in a ribbed pattern, the ribs forming an overall pattern of large rectangles. Bag heavily saturated with pig fat, encrusted with clay. Netting handle threaded through corners at open end. Handle is broken.
A band of two circles crossed twice, creating four lengths, woven in a natural light brown bark fibre. On all edges of the band, there are horizontal rows of white beads (including one orange and two red beads). Partially coated with a white substance.
A rounded knitted headdress drawn in around the edges on a string. Top has a rounded rectangular panel, 19 x 17 cm, knitted in a ribbed pattern. Ribs have been coloured red and white with ochre and clay.
A piece of pearl shell that is crescent shaped and that has 8 cm. between the points where there is a hole bored. The convex side is pearly-yellow while the concave side is pearly-white. Irregularly coated and encrusted with red ochre. Attached to the holes, there is a band knitted of local fibre, 60 cm. long, and 5 cm. wide. To one end, there is attached a cord 5 cm. long. The other attachment has been broken and is affixed to the shell with nylon string. The band is coated with red ochre. To each end, there are affixed two cowrie shells. At the midpoint, there are three transverse ribs. Near these, there is affixed a clump of fur.
Red and black piece of circular knitting still mounted on the knitting needles. The knitting is folded and the needles are lined up parallel and bound together using white and black yarns that is still attached to the knitting. Small skeins of the black and white are attached. A red pattern band is complete: white shapes aligned diagonally are repeated in reflective symmetry. A second band is half complete and alternated legs in trousers with legs in a skirt.
Rectangular knitted bag with a corded strap and three red tassels on the bottom. The bag faces are similar, each consisting of four bands with repeating patterns worked in white or coloured yarn against a dark red or a dark blue background. A border of dark blue and white squares surrounds the bag mouth. Next is a row of figures, alternately male and female, holding hands and wearing hats. Below this is a row of white oval shapes oriented on the diagonal. They repeat in reflective symmetry. Below this is a wider blue band with individual motifs of profile birds, segmented circles and crosses. The final band is like the second band. The bottom edge is sewn together and tassels are attached through the two larger ones. The handle is four strands of red, green and white twisted together then doubled.
Tapering red and white knit cap with a thick red tassel accented with brilliant colours. The lower half has a brilliant red background divided by dark blue lines into 5 pattern bands. Three bands have an 8 petalled motif joined by geometric and figurative designs worked in white yarn. The upper section is white and tapers to a point where the tassel is sewn on.
Conical shaped, red and white knitted stocking cap with a thick red tassel accented with brilliant colours. The lower half has a red background and is divided into six bands with small scale patterns. Three bands have an eight petal shape joined by stepped lines. Two bands have discrete geometric and figurative designs and the uppermost has an interlocking reverse curve. The upper section is white and tapers to a point. The yarn is very smooth and the stitches very fine. There is a break in the knitting at the lower edge and another small one in the centre of the red section. The patterns are orange, pink, blue, green, yellow, orange and navy.
