Head Ring FrontletA8391

Cedar bark head ring with a carved frontlet of a sun figure in high relief. Frontlet has a broad white face, heavy black eyebrows, a green band painted across the eyes, and is encircled by a green ring; alternating squares of abalone shell and mirror are set into the green ring around the face. Cedar bark head ring is lined with cloth and features three large squares of abalone shell fastened to the outside at evenly spaced intervals.

Silver brooch, in an oval shape, with alternating large rectangles of turquoise and narrow rectangles of red shell mounted in a plain bezel with a separate thin silver frame for each fragment of stone or shell. Ceremonial dancer figure in open oval center panel. Soldered to the back are a pin and clasp.

Wolf MaskA8056

A wolf-like mask with large copper nostrils and two copper teeth. The eyes are made of circular abalone shell inlay. The red-painted concave ears are pointed and inserted. The lower jaw is hinged. The mouth is painted red with the nostrils accented with black paint. The upper face is painted red with black areas around the eyes, eyebrows, and just above the eyebrows.

Frontlet featuring a large, three-dimensional bird's head with two smaller heads, one on top and another at the bottom. The bird and the lower face have mirror inlaid eyes. Upper head has abalone shell inlaid eyes. Abalone shell and mirror pieces decorate the border. Painted red, black, green and blue. A cap-like headpiece of red felt with a patterned white and grey top is attached to the back of the frontlet. Remnants of quills attached to the cap behind the frontlet are still visible.

Gambling Game SticksA149 a-ppp

Leather pouch (part a) and sixty seven (parts b-ppp) bone game pieces. Pouch strap has an ornamental bone carving on the end. One piece (part b) has an inlaid abalone shell dot near the end and an empty hole on the opposite side. Forty five of the thin cylindrical bone sticks (parts c-uu) have incised lines around their centres. The other twenty one pieces (parts vv-ppp) are plain bone.
