Ellipsoid, hollow bronze incense burner on single ellipsoid foot. On base is rectangle enclosing square seal-type characters. Sides unadorned below mid-section but have 3 round holes. Raised band around perimeter; flat projections shaped like half-ellipses on each side. Mounted on top is a hinge; half the top is cut free and hinged so it can be inverted; on underside of this is spike 2.3 cm. long. Top perforated with 5 holes; top and projections inlaid with 5 strips of lighter metal in cloud patterns. Bronze has dark brown patina, nearly black on top.
Clip of brass, consisting of u-shaped horizontal base to which is soldered (at open end of u) a vertical rectangular metal plaque, 0.5cm. behind which is a square inverted u of heavy wire, the ends of which are inserted into base. Plaque has projecting rim enclosing a picture of silver ? and brass inlaid on brown crosshatched background; picture depicts scene with house, trees, mountains, and boats.
Incense burner and lid. Burner is of brass, round with flat base on 3 roughly rectangular solid feet 2.4 cm. high. Sharp ridge formed where base joins body. Body is squat, expanding to rounded, turned-in shoulder. Neck 1.2 cm. high; mouth 5.7 cm. in diameter, with wide, flat, turned-out rim. Body is yellow/brown, with shiny speckled surface, worn in places to reveal natural brass. Lid (part b) is also of brass with dark green/brown finish. It is rounded, somewhat raised, with design of 3 butterflies, one perforated, 2 inlaid in dark grey and red/brown metal.
Vase of highly polished bronze with a streaked dark brown shiny finish; round, with flat base on single ring foot 3.7cm. in diameter, with slightly rounded sides expanding slightly to shoulder. Carnation is a right angle with a flat shoulder. Neck is raised, 1cm. high, flared out at mouth, with flat, outturned rim. On one side of body is inlaid design in silver, gold, grey/green, and red/brown metals, of bamboo, flowers, 2 chickens, and grass. On opposite side is the mark 'nobu hiro', in 2 characters.
Human figure of bronze ? with dark brown and red/brown finish; with turban, belt, and eyes of inlaid brass. Over-robe has design of flowers and cranes, raised in fine detail. Figure seated on ground with right leg under him, left leg bent with toes turned up. Right arm at his side; left arm raised. Eyes are round and bulging; mouth turned down at corners; face deeply lined. White lozenge design on base, finish gone from base. Base is blistered; thin sheet of metal over solid core.
Wood figure representing a young man. Elongated slender figure carved in wood and blackened. Straight crude limbs and small delicately carved features. Rough black wool yarn has been glued on for hair and small white beads glued at eyes. Dressed in an outer apron. Inner apron and dress-like front apron in leather with large rich coloured beads in green, red, blue, and white.
Iron lock with inlaid bronze ? designs on one side and on bottom; shaped like hollow rectangular cube, with projections from both ends of one side each 2 x 1.3 x 7cm. Between the 2 projections is a cylindrical iron rod, passing through the projection. Rod is attached to plug which is shaped to fit one end of lock; at opposite end is a rectangular perforation 1cm. long for insertion of key, which is missing. Inlaid design includes a central 'double happiness' character, and symmetrical fret and coil pattern; on projections are characters for 'to close' or 'preciousness' ? and 'riches'.
Octagonal, grey bodied stoneware dish, or bowl, on flat base with glazed ring foot and several rough spur marks under base and on foot. Sides are thick (0.5cm), straight and slightly flared. On outside of each facet is a white trapezoid, enclosing a design of two stylized white chrysanthemum patterns, with leaves and stems in black. Above and below trapezoids are white lines around circumference of bowl. Inside bowl on each facet is rough design of three leaves in white slip, above which is a line and a band of geometric pattern. Heavy grey glaze, somewhat crackled, with dark spots.
Whale vertebra formed into a pipe; hole drilled in the top and fitted with a copper bowl while a connecting hole is drilled in the back. Both sides cut and incised to depict the head of an animal; rectangular eyes inset with copper.
