Necklace1590/284

Necklace of 101 glass beads and 5 hollow turtles strung on wire. There are 90 small red cylindrical beads and 11 barrel-shaped fancy “eye” and “stripe” beads. The small beads are separated at intervals by the barrel-shaped beads, 9 of which are predominantly pink and 2 predominantly black. The turtles all have zigzag engraving on backs and are spaced at intervals through lower half of necklace. The large turtle has engraved circles for eyes and two holes pierced in nose. The small turtles have embossed eyes and are strung through the nose. Large turtle is strung through pierced holes in front feet. All turtles have maker’s marks on back.

Pendant of a hollow silver turtle on a roughly oval flat surround. Turtle’s body is engraved with a zigzag design. The surround has scalloped edges also engraved with zigzag design. Hole at top. Mark in rectangular cartouche on flat surround.

Necklace with 90 glass beads, 18 green glass beads, one blue bead, 2 red and black cylindrical beads, 8 flat turtles and one thick Latin cross with short cross bar and rounded ends. Turtles have cross-hatched engraving and the Jost hallmark. Cross is also engraved and has a stamp 'Boyer' on it. Necklace is threaded on string.

Pair of earrings shaped like a small armband. A is slightly smaller than B. Bands narrow to thin bent wires secured through hole. B has been repaired where band narrows to wire. Edges of bands have double lines of engraving.
