One side of the fan is painted with floral designs in reds, purples, greens on either side of two women dressed in kimonos accompanied by a small boy; the back is decorated with flowers. Black lacquered ribs have been painted with silver designs. A pink tassel hangs from the bottom of the fan's handle.
