Figure is carrying on the back, a brown frame of two vertical pieces (11.6 and 12 cm. long) each with a horizontal projection on which rests a grey bundle, 6.5 cm. high, fastened with light burgundy-purple thread. Figure has hair in a topknot. Wearing a loose grey shirt, loose white trousers, and sandals. Two pieces of white flannel hemmed with light red-pink silk thread are sewn to the paper backing.

Box made of unfinished light brown wood. Fan has eight split bamboo inner ribs and two carved bamboo parent ribs. Fan face of paper has gold background with tree scene of brown, blue and green with two white birds.

Folding fan with thirty-nine inner ribs of split bamboo, highly perforated, and two white plastic parent ribs. Covered with silk on one side only, painted with grey wave design with two sailing boats and birds in red, with silver glitter, on white background. Silver paper around edge. Attached to silver-coloured rivet is cord of pink silk, 25cm. long (double), knotted, with tassels at end, strung with an imitation pearl.

Covered on both sides with ecru-coloured paper printed on one side with scene of snow-covered mountain, green and yellow mountainside, and black trees. Inscription of nine Chinese characters in black, with two-character red seal.

Wearing a black straight-sided hat with a flat crown, and a wide brim, light grey silk robe tied to the right upper front with a ribbon of the same, dark grey full trousers, white leggings, socks, and black shoes. Two pieces of white flannel hemmed with light green silk thread with a loop of the same at the top are sewn to the paper backing.

Trapezoid-shaped block of wood, hollowed out and re-closed on one side with a piece of fitted wood. There is a hole in the bottom of the base and at the curved end for sound. There is a hand grip carved into the wood at the end where the metal prongs are attached. Eight metal parallel prongs are held in place by a cross piece metal bar attached to the base by wire loops threaded and resting on a right angled strip of metal at one end, and a strip of wood at the other. There is a round metal sleeve on each prong. The strips of lightweight metal are wound around the base of each prong (or key) to act as resonators. The top face has a linear design burnt into the wood.
