BowlIa298

A deep celadon bowl with bulbous body and hole-bottom underside. The centre is slightly convex and raises to a small peak. Repairs to bowl are much more visible on the exterior surface than inside. Matte green glaze covers entire bowl except underside and a little area just above the base. Where unglazed, a reddish-brown body is revealed. A set of inked letter and number is written on the underside.

A globular jar with a prominent ridge about a third of the way down from the mouth. The upper third of the body is in the shape of a turned-over dish. The mouth is relatively narrow with four small plain vertical lugs around it. There is a stamp between two lugs.

A tall round jar with wide mouth and six vertical lugs on the shoulder. The body design is of two pairs of vertical s-shaped, three-toed dragons. Each pair has a flaming pearl on a cloud between them. The dragon pairs are separated by cranes and swallows. The shoulder of the jar is ringed with three bands of floral patterns two of which are variants of the ruyi motif. The jar is glazed from the interior neck, over the rim and down the body until just short of the base. The lip has a set of inked numbers.

A cobalt blue globular jar with a domed lid which is crowned with a moulded seated lion. The jar has a wide mouth and six grooved lugs on the shoulder. Just below the lugs is a collar of moulded buttons. Another ring of buttons, more sparsely spaced than the first, towards the base of the jar.

Neckless globular jar with wide mouth and flat base. On the shoulder are five horizontal lugs and a short spout. The jar is glazed from the neck interior, over the lip and down two-thirds of the body. The bottom third of the jar is unglazed. An incised circle links the lugs and spout. A set of inked numbers on the lip and an adhesive on the underside with inked numbers and letters.

Brown miniature globular bottle with short neck, wide mouth, wide flat base and two vertical lugs on the shoulder. The glaze ends midway down the body in an uneven line except for a point where it runs to the base. The slightly concave base is rougher to the touch than the rest of the body surface. Overall, the clay is coarse and grey. A set of inked letter and numbers is written on the underside.

Miniature spherical bottle with wide mouth, rounded lip and wide base. Brownish-grey glaze covers the upper half of the body and is finely crackled. Miniature bulgy spherical bottle with short neck, small mouth with rounded lip and foot ring. Glaze is shiny and covers the mouth and exterior except the foot and small circular patches (repairs) on the mouth rim and body. Unglazed areas reveal a dark grey dense stoneware body. The centre of the base has a spiral. A set of inked letter and numbers is written on the underside.

A miniature bottle with long neck, trumpet-shaped mouth and splayed foot. The body and foot are moulded with raised linear designs of overlapping upright lotus petals. The vase is luted in three sections: at the base of the neck, midway down the body and at the junction where the foot begins to splay. A large hollow at the base forms a narrow foot rim on which the vase rests. Glaze covers the inside of the trumpet mouth and down the exterior surface until just short of the base. The exposed parts reveal a chalky white body. A set of inked letter and numbers is written on the narrow foot rim.

Slightly greenish-grey glazed spherical jarlet with wide mouth and two loop ears. The interior and exterior are glazed except for mid-body patches, base and underside. These exposed areas reveal a greyish white body. The base is shaved and there are chatter marks on the underside. A set of inked letter and numbers is written on the underside.
