The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

An arrow with several components: metal double-barbed point with a bark-covered fore-shaft wrapped with sinew, a short section of hollow reed (joining sleeve) a small shaft of carved wood (link shaft), another short joining sleeve, the main length of hollow reed ending with a notched wooden insert. Each joining sleeve is bound with sinew; the main shaft has two bindings, one strengthening the insert, the other repairing a break. All sinew is glued with a mixture of acacia gum and the melted hoof of a gemsbok. The link shaft and first sleeve are glued together with this mixture, as is the fore-shaft. The second joining sleeve is glued to the main shaft and bound to prevent splitting.
A slender arrow of four lengths of light and dark wood fitted and bound together with sinew in three places. One end is sharpened to a point, with small insert in opening at end opposite.
Two lengths of reed fitted together and bound with sinew in the middle. Sinew is dark brown.
Arrow is composed of two sections. Tan reed shaft is shaped at one end to fit the bow string, hollowed at the other end to hold black wood section. The reed shaft is bound at hollowed end with fibre, and fibre is wound along the length of the black shaft, which is pointed at both ends. The reed shaft is broken near the join of the two pieces.
Arrow composed of two attached sections: a reed shaft is shaped at one end to fit a bow string, and is hollowed at other end to hold a black wood section. The reed shaft is bound at hollowed end with fibre, and fibre is wound along the length of the black shaft which is pointed at both ends.
Black horn, bound at centre and near each end with sinew. The string is sinew lashed to bow.
Coiled and bound length of root. Bark is dark brown and exposed areas are light brown. Vegetable fibre binding is in medium brown.
Winnower has a flat base and low sloped sides. Chain loops connect the base and rim; in one small area looping has come loose. Rim has noticeable worn areas. A dark brown residue is on the outer edges of the winnower's interior. The underside is black in colour and shows wear along ridges.
A long light brown wood elbow handle that has a dark grey stone blade attached with cord wrapping. The handle has light abstract geometric marks scratched on both sides. The blade is flat on the bottom side and slightly convexly angular on the top side where it tapers at an angle, creating a straight edge.
A hollow, bottle-shaped, brown wood whistle that is circular in cross section with a neck tapering to a flat, beak-like mouthpiece. Bound with brown twine around near the wider end. Carved with a raven design. Has oval in oval eyes surrounded by a tapering oval and an ovoid. In between the eyes, there is a u form that has an oval within. The beak has a large split u with a smaller one at the pointed tip. Each wing has an ovoid at the top with two feathers below. Feathers are consisting of a pair of split u's with a larger one below and an u form that has an oval within at the tip. Inner wings curve around to a pointed corner while the outer wings are continuously connected underneath the beak around to each other.
