A flat fan made of finely-split bamboo flaring out from its attachment point to a long wood handle painted black. Perimeter of fan is circular except for the lower edge where the handle is attached which is straight and at right angles to the handle. Fan is covered with lacquered paper that has a design of three swirls converging at the centre coloured red-orange, black, and yellow. It has a narrow edging of black paper. The fan is inserted into a split in the handle which is flat and shaped like a pointed oval where it covers the fan, which is attached with two rivets. The shape of the handle is repeated with an outline of orange paint on the fan.
A small flat, rectangular fan with two lobes at the top. On a frame of very fine bamboo strips radiating out from the centre of the lower edge where the handle is mounted. Both sides are covered with paper and are lacquered green with a painted black design like a paper cut around near the handle are mounting, enclosing an orange painted design shaped like a half-marquise. Straight wood handle is painted red and split to allow insertion of fan.
Standing wood male figure (ibeji) on round base. Figure has a long trunk and arms on short stocky legs. Arms are at the sides. Has protruding stomach, nipples, buttocks, and genitalia. Large head with facial features in relief of large protruding eyes having incised eyelids. Arranged on each cheek, there are seven incised notches with three at the forehead. Large pierced ears placed far back on head. Earring of strung white shell(?) beads and one jasper disc. Tall pointed four-sided headdress with knob at top is patterned with incised lines, of which the recesses are filled with indigo. Arm on the right has plain silver bracelet. Two strings of dark horn beads at waist. Necklace of blue glass(?). Incising at back of head, spine, and stomach. Carved wood piece with dark brown patina and red camwood paste in areas.
A boy's plaited straw hat in a fedora style with a turned up brim and a creased crown. White plastic band stitched around the rim and a black plastic hat band with the ends crossed and having three holes: one at the cross is attached to a metal eyelet in the hat and the other two holes are 1-2 cm. from the first.
Brass-coloured tweezers made of two arms brazed together at one end and expanding to a broad flat set of jaws at the other. A broad disc of brass has been left on each arm approximately halfway down their width and decorated with incised designs or spots and swirls. A ring has been secured around the handle end.
Handheld drum (a) and drumstick (b). Hide stretched over a circular wooden frame with a projecting wooden handle. Hide is lashed to the frame with fur-covered skin thongs. Painted with a Northwest Coast style bird and human face design in black, white, red, and green. Back of drum is lined with faded red cloth. Drumstick is short with light tan-coloured hide wrapped around the head.
A flat inverted u-shaped fan on a frame of very finely split bamboo radiating out from the centre of the flat edge at the handle. Each bamboo strip is bent back in a wide u-shape. Fan is covered on both sides with paper, and is lacquered red with a black edge, a small black design like an airplane, and a black design like a paper cut around the handle. Painted orange around the handle. Straight wood handle is painted black, split for insertion of the fan, and fastened with two tin rivets.
Pair of snowshoes, each made of two light brown wood sticks, stripped of bark and bent into a U-shape. The two U's are bound together facing each other, the ends overlapping and forming an ellipse. The binding is composed of four strips of light yellow wood, steam-bent and knotted, one around each end of each U, and two kinds of plant fibre cord, one used as lashing across centre of ellipse and the other loosely tied around the former. Between the overlapping ends of the U's are wood wedges.
Minature pagoda cast of white metal, with brass wire surrounded by brass spring projecting from roof. Pagoda has rectangular base painted grey and black, and five stories painted red with square green roofs.
Mouth organ consisting of 17 cane pipes, each with a free reed of thinner wood inserted around the circumference of flat side of black lacquered wooden container shaped like an elongated hemisphere, with a neck to use as a blowpipe. 13 pipes have 0.25cm. round hole and 2cm. split in cane; 4 pipes have neither hole nor split. Both neck and container have bone decoration, forming mouthpiece of neck and at bottom of bowl. Canes held in place by rattan strap.
