Shell Basketry1003/18

Basketry covered abalone shell. The main weave is light brown with a colourful centre beginning with purple on the inside and working its way outward with yellow, red, green, and red. The sides are woven with purple animals and "UCLUELET. BC." in green. The rim has three rows of red-green-red around the edge.

A dark grey-brown stone piece with a T-shape that has an upraised, grooved, fin-like protrusion along the top. The top "T" part has diagonal grooves outward with a diagonal row of large dots below and a basic design of small dots overall. The other part has a snake coiled around it and is drilled through the centre.

Grey-black, L-shaped stone pipe (part a) with a linear ridge carved down the front of the bowl. Long, dark brown wooden stem (part b) fits into the stone bowl of the pipe, but has no openings.
