Roughly rectangular basket with flaring sides and braided cording with a woven strap attached around the rim. Simple coiled work (bifurcated stitches); parallel splint base construction; line held on by rawhide; tump line woven with wool. Vertical striped design; each stripe is composed of stripes and checks in red/bullrush or black/bullrush. Design stops five rows before base. One filler of connected diamonds in red/bullrush. Tumpline has a blue zigzag line on green ground. Colour: tan.

Large cedar basket with a rectangular base, flaring sides and a loop of cord tied through the upper rim on one side. Simple coiled work (bifurcated stitches); parallel to watch-spring base construction; partial imbrication and beading. Vertical striped design: each stripe is three stitches wide; red line bordered by alternating bulrush and black or a black stripe bordered by alternating red and bullrush. Shaped fillers in various combinations of red, black and bulrush. Colour: tan.

Burden BasketD1.453

Large flared, rectangular coiled basket (bifurcated stitches) with parallel splint base construction, bifurcated overstitch at center. Upper half is fully imbricated in cat-tail grass with designs of mirror image 'c' shapes in black cherry bark. Black cherry bark stitches at intervals along rim. Lower portion has short vertical stripes of cat-tail grass divided in three and outlined in either red or dark cherry bark. Bottom has two rows of red cherry bark imbrication. Fibre through one side at rim.
