Wool BeaterA6028

Wooden wool beater with a long blade, which curves upwards at the pointed end. The hand-grip is inset from the blade and has a wider square-shaped knob at its end. One surface of the blade is stained a dark red-brown colour, but the majority of the wood is a yellowish brown colour. The edges are rough.

Woven basket with two bands of geometric design overlaid in dyed swamp grass that are bordered with black root lines and contain triangle-like shapes composed of an orange and a black triangle on the outsides with diamond-like shapes composed of gold and black triangles in the centre on a cream-coloured background. At rim is a band of alternating red and black root. Lid is a fair amount larger than the diameter of the basket and has a raised centre with concentric bands of raised weaving.
