Shoes984/9 a-b

Pair of rigid black shoes made of smooth-surfaced heavy, stiff leather dyed black with unfinished natural leather soles and small heels nailed on with iron nails. One iron cleat is attached at toe and one at the heel. Row of hand-stitching around outer edge of sole. Shoes are low at sides, higher at back and have upturned toes with a centre seam. Piping in the same colour as the outside around the upper edge. Inside of shoes is brown and part b has a brown insole, while the other is black with the stitching showing.

Rectangular wall hanging coarsely woven with light yellow-brown wool around the border and light yellow-brown mixed with off-white fibre at the centre. There are tassels of a different wool woven into the bottom row. The same wool is woven across the top. Blue 'Salish Weaving' tag sewn to back.

Crab TrapA2191

Round crab trap. Twigs are cross-lashed together with strips of bark into a squat round frame with funnel-shaped opening at top. Three handle-like lengths of twisted bark are woven and tied vertically onto the outside. a long bent twig with knot at one end protrudes out from inside.
