Attached is long curved serpentine handle made of a cylindrical piece of metal that curves down one side, then up the other. Each side of the handle is decorated with a honeysuckle design which is nailed to the bottom of the strainer. The top is completely open.

At the back of the lamp, a crescent-shaped thumb plate sits on an angle with a ring attached below it, and the lamp has three lengths of suspension chain attached from loops. There is a short flared foot on the underside.
