Main design is consisting of horizontal black bands in various widths and designs including checkered, chain-link-like, and tie-like patterns on an off-white background. Narrow hem at each end with selvages on the sides.

A woman's wrap-around skirt that is a rectangle of multi-coloured hand-woven wool textile. Finished on all sides with braided red yarn. Panels of vertical stripes at each end. Solid black or very dark brown panel in the centre. Horizontal stripes at top and bottom. Red and black predominating. Top and bottom are interchangeable. Stiff and heavy.
