Embroidered on the centre panel are orange and red peonies with green leaves and yellow swirls. On the inside of both side folds is a pink peony with green leaves and yellow swirls. The rounded top piece has pink and red peonies with green leaves and yellow swirls. Hanging down from the top piece on either side of the centre panel is a red streamer. On the back, the flap mimics the rounded top piece and extends down past the bottom of the folded centre panel, flaring out at the bottom. In the centre of the flap is a large orange and red peony. Surrounding the flower is a circle of gold scroll designs and peonies in red and orange with green leaves and yellow swirls. On the inside of the hat is ecru lining, stiffened with cardboard. Two ecru ties are attached.

The designs on the back of the hat mimic those on the front. There are pink and red peonies, green leaves, gold swirls and small purple flowers. The golden features, with added tusks, are repeated on the top piece of the back flap. Beneath the features in the centre of the flap is a large red symbol. Surrounding the symbol is a circle of pink and purple peonies, yellow scroll designs and green leaves. On the inside of the hat is ecru lining, stiffened with cardboard. Two ecru ties are attached.

White rectangular blouse (part a) with embroidery and fringe. Beneath the v-neck, gold threads are braided in the centre and the ends hang down in a long double fringe. Embroidered down the centre and side seams are squares in red, orange, yellow, blue and green on white ground. The bottom hem is edged with multicoloured trim. The inside is unlined.

Blue and white lace head cover. The upper part is blue lace; the ends are white lace with silver detailing. The The front pieces are sewn shut.

Red shawl with fringe. The shawl is long and narrow. The ends have a fringe with threads woven through the ends.

White skirt (part b) with embroidered cross-stitch hem. The skirt has no waistband and an unfinished upper edge. The bottom hem is has an embroidered band with a black triangle motif on dark red ground and edged with blue. Above the band are figure, animal and floral motifs in red and black on white ground. The inside is unlined.
