Blouse3587/49

Woman's blouse. Black velvet(?) blouse that is short in the torso with long sleeves. The blouse has an open front with a red collar that extends down the opening. Six silver-coloured diamond-shaped metal decorations are stitched down the front on each side. Lines of embroidery in red, yellow, pink and green thread with silver sequins encircle the wrists, shoulders and hems. The lower back is embroidered with a rectangular section of embroidery with vertical lines of red, yellow, pink and green thread with silver sequins, with rows of embroidery below. Interior is unlined.

Skirt3587/41

Wrap around skirt composed of three lengths of fabric, sewn together on long edges. The wrap is woven with red, dark black-blue, and light orange red stripes on a beige ground. Both ends have supplementary patterning(?) in stiff red-brown or black fibre creating a diamond pattern. Along the inner edges of the supplementary patterning, and along the bottom edge, is embroidery in red, green, black, and beige. Collector's tag is sewn to back.

Tube skirt composed of a rectangular textile that is stitched together on one side to form a tube. The fabric is woven with a pink ground. The skirt has ikat patterning - 6 larger horizontal bands with 6 pairs of smaller bands. The top of the skirt has a plain pink area before the bands begin. Collector's tag sewn to interior.

Rectangular cloth with black background. The top edge is cut or unfinished. The lower half has a red edging, stitched in yellow and is embroidered in dark pink, dark purple, light pink, green, and yellow. 18 tassels hang along the bottom edge, some in pairs, each starting with a short length of fused beading in silver or green in colour, followed by a black pompom and then lengths of plaited red string tassels. Collector's tag sewn to interior.

Long-sleeved jacket or blouse. Jacket is short in the torso and is made of dark brown fabric. Garment is open at front and edged with beige. The cuffs, shoulders and front opening have red silk. On the right shoulder, there are two white buttons on both front and back with short multicoloured fibres attached. The front panels and back of the garment are heavily embroidered in dark purple-red, dark pink, green, light grey-brown and red in various geometric designs. There is a small square pocket on the front right interior, and the interior is unlined.

Wrap-around skirt (pukhang). Composed of three lengths of dark grey-brown woven fabric, stitched together on the long edge. Textile has supplementary pattern in stiff red-brown fibre, with three breaks, with bands of embroidered geometric shapes - red-brown meander(?) design on dark black-blue ground, red-brown zigzags with white flecks in between points on a black-blue ground, and a smaller meander(?) in grey, orange, brown-yellow, dark black-blue over the original weave. Collector's tag sewn to back.

Tube skirt. The skirt is composed of two lengths of dark purple textile stitched together to form a tube. One opening has an 11.5 cm black band attached. The other end is finished. The dark purple has supplementary patterning with repeating diamonds in the negative space of dashed yellow stitching. There is a centre column of repeating diamonds - with the pattern mirrored on the opposite side of a plain band featuring the text 'GANGAW SPECIAL'. Collector's tag sewn to interior.

Shoulder cloth (naga pong). Plain weave with supplementary dark brown-green weft pattern on a yellow-brown background. Long tube skirt. Composed of two woven panels sewn together on a long edge, and then again on their short edges to create a tube. The two pieces have been attached so that the pattern is mirrored from the centre seam. There are three solid beige bands distributed between bands of three lines of red, and single lines of green on a dark grey background. One side is embroidered geometric shapes in red, yellow, white, dark green and dark pink. Collector's tag sewn on inside.
