Unfinished Hat1593/23

Rectangular shaped unfinished woven wool hat with lines of cream coloured patterns on an alternating red and navy striped ground. The designs consist of circles, x-shapes, birds and flowers with green, pink, blue, yellow and orange detailing. Intertwined in the incomplete top are five, long metal knitting needles.

Hat with ear flaps, chin strings and a crown that tapers into a knit cylinder which ends in tassels, as well as three tighter knit short tubular extensions, which also end in tassels. The hat is woven with multicoloured geometric and animal designs (mostly birds) on alternating horizontal red and green bands.

Long, yellow-brown flute with carved holes made from a bamboo-like length of reed grass. A separate reed is fitted into the mouthpiece and secured in place with twine. Wool and cotton string are wrapped around the lower portion of the flute in two places.
