Ladle carved from one piece of wood. Deep bowl with flat bottom and pointed tip. The end of the handle is in the form of a Dzunuk'wa figure's head with a slightly flattened face, recessed eyes, pursed lips and stylized ears with several curved grooves.

Feast DishA6433

Wooden feast dish carved in the shape of an eagle with a central, oval shaped concavity. The bird has its head painted white, green and yellow and is turned inward with its beak hanging over the bowl; its feet grip the opposite end. Below the feet are three vertical lines of white tail feathers detailed with ovoids and u-forms. The head is a separate piece attached with nails. The outer sides are carved with a wing consisting of three horizontal feather designs of black, yellow, green and orange ovoids, s-shapes, u-forms and split u’s. The body of the eagle is black.

Dance KnifeA3800

Warrior dance knife, or baton in the form of Sisiutl. A long thin cylindrical-like shaped wood piece with a central frontal head and a profile head on either side. Cedar bark is tied around one side. Painted with long upward curving protruding red tongues at either side and four horizontal black rings around each neck.

Club with long handle and end in the shape of the head of a Sisiutl. Tongue of Sisiutl protrudes from mouth. Top curl on head. Painted detail in the colours red, green, and black. Light grey-brown fibre cording is wrapped and knotted half way up the handle.
