Imbricated geometric pattern the same on each opposite side: a middle vertical row of arrows in dark and red cherry bark and cat-tail grass (?), some with rectangular background in red cherry bark; and on each side is a vertical row of mirror image right-sided triangles.

Upper half of basket is fully imbricated in cat-tail grass (?) with vertical rows in dark cherry bark, red cherry bark on one side, that are in different positions on every side. Base has one row of solid imbrication in dark cherry bark. String throug one long side.

Roughly rectangular footed basket with two small wire handles along the upper rim. Simple coiled work (bifurcated stitches); parallel slat base construction; fully imbricated. Vertical stripes with parallel oblique lines separated by black and red cherry bark all on bullrush ground, direction of oblique lines change with each stripe. Diamond shape fillers in either red or black. Colour: tan.

Fishing CreelD1.327

Fishing creel basket with a rounded base that tapers slightly to a flat lid with a curved front edge and a rectangular hole in the centre. The back of the creel is angled. The basket has parallel splint base construction, and the lid closes with buckskin ties. A double zigzag pattern is partially imbricated in red cherry, cat-tail and black cherry bark repeated in two rows producing negatively defined diamonds along the centre. Imbricated bands of red and orange-brown on the underside of the base.

Large basket that is rectangular in cross section, flares upward and outward, and then angles back inward for the smaller upper portion with an overcast rim. Simple interlocking coiled work (bifurcated stitches) and parallel splint and watch-spring base construction. Partial imbrication and beading in discrete figures of a series of vertical columns of small horizontal bands of imbrication in red and in black cherry bark. Alternate columns in red and in black. Four or five rows of beading near the base. Rows are alternately in black or in red cherry bark. Beading around the circumference of the base on the exterior of the basket.
