Jacket made of coarse black wool with blue zigzag embroidery on the shoulders, cuffs and edges. The jacket also has a multicoloured floral design emerging from the side seams on the back. The back bottom edge has a silk fringe in maroon interspersed with yellow, red and green.
Ovoid shaped red-brown gourd decorated with parallel rings of geometric white designs incised in low relief on a yellow ground. Appears unused.
Woven brown and beige striped sash. A third is embroidered with a multi-coloured flower and leaf design on a red ground. Fringe at both ends is green and orange.
Cloth (tzute) composed of two pieces of red cloth with dark red stripes joined together with an embroidered multicoloured band (randa) at the centre, and brocaded with multicoloured geometric designs on a dark red ground. The cloth is finished with a dark red tassel at each corner.
Skirt made with four pieces cotton fabric with selvedge edges joined by central embroidery to form a long rectangular shaped tube. The detailing consists of burgundy, red, blue, yellow, orange, green, purple and white embroidered strips on a navy and white pinstriped ground.
Sash made of wool and cotton with a brown and white horizontal striped pattern and single-faced flower and leaf design overlaid on one half. The embroidered design is multi-coloured on reddish-purple ground. The fringed ends are multi-coloured wool.
Under trousers constructed of off-white fabric with a square gusset of two pieces inserted at the crotch and a cotton cord drawstring closure. An embroidered red bird motif is repeated at the cuffs with a zigzag line of stitching along the bottom of each cuff.
Shirt made of red cotton with vertical multicoloured patterned bands in yellow, green, orange, blue, black and white. A slit opening at the neck is finished with a collar brocaded with designs formed by multicoloured diamond shapes. The left breast pocket and sleeve cuffs are also brocaded with multicoloured diamond motif patterns.
Demonstration backstrap loom (part a) with various attached and/or removable pieces (parts b-n). Part a: loom with front and back wooden loom bars with natural multi-ply cotton string warps attached; strings in dyed green and orange interwoven along inside edges of bars; dyed brown weft string interwoven for 13 rows of plain weave, the end of the weft yarn is attached to a pointed stick which is notched for attached yarn at other end. Dyed blue string attached to loom bars and interwoven to lengthwise selvedges. Part b: slightly curved heddle rod of shaved beige stick tied and wrapped by warp from weaving. Part c: separate shaved beige lease stick or bobbin with angled ends and longitudinal splits. Part d: slightly curved shed stick loosely resting in warp. Part e: separate wooden stick loom bar with knotted end. Part f: lease stick with numerous pin point holes, a rounded end, split 4.5 cm. in from end, other end is burnt and beveled. Part g: bamboo lease stick or heddle rod. Part h: separate wooden batten sword with pointed, triangular ends, rounded along one length, tapering to other side. Part i: separate large dark wooden loom bar with notched ends. Parts j and k: wooden support sticks around which green and orange string is attached. Green string loops (tied and glued) hold j to loom bar farthest from weaving. Part l: separate grey/white synthetic rope, burnt at ends with single knot near one end. Parts m and n: carved light wooden shuttles with pointed ends, carved out section with pointed stick through centre, two points at other end, 'J.L.' carved near end.
Loom rope consisting of an agave fibre ? strand made of two twisted pieces of twine with small knotted loops at the ends. Rope is tied near the top form a loop at the opposite end.
