Large, red, baluster-shaped vase with three panels of figures (a). One scene is of a battle between horsemen. Another is of an emperor resting in his palace balcony flanked by servants. Last scene is of emperor and courtiers in a landscape setting. The whole vase is decorated with designs of cicadae key designs, scrolls and arabesques. All in relief on red lacquer. Vase rests on circular wooden stand with five feet (b).
