Seto ware ceramic tea caddy (without its lid). Flat base showing rough, dark grey-brown body. Squat cylindrical form curving sharply inward at shoulder to short neck, rounded lip. Thick iridescent coffee-coloured glaze thins over lip, pools darkly beneath it, thinning again at the shoulder. From there dark brown streaks, sometimes exhibiting, crackling fall over the glossy surface to the base, where glaze chipped in one place. Two matte brown repairs, and two gold lacquer ones, located on lip.

Seto ware ceramic tea caddy (without its lid). Cylindrical form curving gently inward at base, and more sharply at shoulder minimal neck, rounded lip. Flat, unglazed base showing dark brown body. Thick opaque coffee-coloured glaze, thinning slightly over lip, pools into a dark brown-black ring which ends below lip in an iridescent streak falling over the shoulder.

Inverted pear-shaped ceramic vase is surmounted by a tall ridged cylindrical neck terminating in a broadly flared five-lobed mouth. The heavy grey-white body is iron speckled. There is a broadly flared unglazed foot ring and an unglazed base. The thin glossy pale blue-green glaze falls unevenly short of and in some places over the foot. There is the patterned under glaze with swirling groups of evenly spaced parallel lines, known as "combing". The glaze pools over these and also over irregularities in the body, including a gouge in the neck. Paper label reads "2 lj 4".

A mallet shaped ceramic vase with an angled rounded lower body which angles inward, tapering into a cylindrical neck that has two handles in the shape of a phoenix. Foot ring cut from base. Light yellow-brown body with thick, opaque, grey-blue-green slightly lustrous glaze covering entire vessel, stopping just short of base. Glaze has wide crackle, yellow-brown in colour. Paper label reads "1 JLS 2.2".

A ceramic bowl. Narrowly fluted, curving into shallow circular unglazed foot and base. Thin white porcelain body covered in very pale light grey-green glaze with a bluish cast, which pools in pale green drops just below the outer edge of the rim. Glaze slightly glossy in places, very matte in others. Interior has glaze pools in shallow circular groove at bottom, which encloses some irregular pooling which may obscure a decorative motif. Paper tag on exterior near base reads "17 ljs .5."

Duck FigureEd1.281 a-b

Duck with body (a) carved from one piece of wood cut horizontally at right angle at head and tail, growth rings apparent. Wider where it joins with head (b) and tapering at tail. Wing and top of leg are carved on each side. Square hole for neck piece. Rectangular hollow carved out of bottom with a crack at each end. Neck and head are carved from one piece of wood and has round eyes with dot at centre; 2 small holes for nostrils on the top of the beak; beak slightly parted at tip. Neck has rectangular projection which fits into duck body.

A long rectangular brown fabric piece that has red, yellow, and white embroidery. Three joined panels with each end of the piece covered partway up the lengthwise edge with yellow binding. Rest of the edges are yellow blanket stitching. Entire piece is covered with yellow and red embroidered uniformly-sized circles. Spatial divisions marked by small white, embroidered squares resembling tie dying. Four striped red, and yellow maces with red centres are interspersed with fourteen peacocks. Typical embroidered jewelry in several places. Central lotus has three red, and three yellow petals. Both ends are embroidered with three vertical bands of red and yellow flowers starting with a white lozenge pattern, then a white zig zag pattern, and finishing with a plain alternating red, yellow, and red flower pattern.

A long rectangular cotton cloth (khaddar) of three hand sewn long panels with the sides unfinished along the top and bottom. Side edging in blanket stitch; embroidered with silk threads. Central motif has people carrying lanterns, games, food preparation, dancers and head jewelry. Motifs at each end are almost mirror images. From edge: large with small birds, seventeen small birds, small circles, people in a train, engine and cupolas, and six elephants. Side borders have snakes and birds.
