Jewelry Transfer1799/15

Object is a sheet of paper with ten transfers on adhesive tape attached. Transfers are of jewelry pieces. Ten transfers in total, five bracelets, four rings, and one brooch. All jewelry depicts traditional Northwest Coast style designs. Above each transfer, the artist has written an inscription. All transfers are placed horizontally and parallel to each other.

Artist's proof of shark print. Face is shown frontally with black eyebrows and pupils, red nose, mouth and sharp, downward pointing teeth, and blue-green around eyes and on forehead. Body is mostly black, with red and blue-green Northwest Coast design features. The arms and feet are outlined heavily in black and have Northwest Coast style faces in them. Unfinished BraceletNb1.759

Strip of silver held with wax ? to a block of wood. The silver is a long rectangle and has carvings on it. It is held to the wood with a greenish wax ? known as chaser's pitch. The wax ? is squished out from under the silver and covers much of the surface of the wood. The engraved design on the metal strip has an eagle's head as part of it. The back of the wood has a narrow strip of wood glued onto it. There is writing in ink on the back.
