Throwing Club2919/16

Long wooden throwing club, rounded, thick at the head and narrowing toward the handle. While the handle is smooth and unpainted, the head of the club is carved with protruding notches and long ridges and decorated with painted patterns of dots, lines and colour blocks.

Throwing Club2919/14

Wooden throwing club with a thick head narrowing toward a long, thin handle. The head is oblong in shape while the handle is round. Slight ridges encircle the whole of the object and several chips have been taken out of the head. The surface is dark brown and somewhat shiny.

A sharp point, painted dark orange, flares into a midsection delicately carved into five thin, down-pointing blades and one short, thicker up-pointing blade on each side. The blades are elaborately painted in multiple colours, with patterns of lines, dots, and colour blocks. The handle is long and tapered, also painted dark orange.

Small sculpture of hooded hunter's head and jagged rocks. Finely carved white stone face is inside a black stone hood with etched lines showing fur around face. The hood ends in a pointed tip at top and off to one side at the bottom edge. The carved head is situated over a marbled white stone base with rough, pointed edges on three sides; flat on bottom. Artist inscription etched into base.
