Round wool hat with shaped crown in the middle and straw in the interior. Top of hat has different embroidered motifs surrounded by sewn metal sequins and small plastic beads: four tall trees, two circular designs with leaf decorations, two triangular designs with three geometric motifs. The crown has four geometric designs in each quarter and a high pompom in the middle with five coins of five cents each sewn with metal threads. Ring band at rim with geometric sewn designs and protuded serrated decoration; red fabric background and light red cushion in the interior.
Knitted bag. Strap in light brown and yellow dyed threads, with pink and yellow pompoms at edges. Three pouches; two at front, one on either side. Peruvian, Bolivian, Argentinian, Spanish and Chilean coins from the late 1700's to early 1900's have been sewn with cotton threads on front side (left pouch: 18 small, right pouch: 11 medium and front: 13 large coins). The most common phrase on the coins is: "Libre por la constitucion" (free by the constitution). Six bands of geometric motifs (from top to bottom): flowers, triangles, waves, circles and diagonal lines.
Square woven bag with three vertical bands of geometric motifs, three square pouches, multicoloured fringes and a strap with wave decorations. Peruvian and Bolivian coins from the 1800's have been sewn with cotton threads on the front side. Felt headband with carved wooden frontlet of eagle. Band is made of red felt, with balsa wood carving of an eagle head at centre. Bird has two feathers atop the head, with large eyes rimmed in blue, and an open beak with slightly protruding tongue. Neck is painted with feathers in black. The head is attached to a piece of black leather that is sewn to the band with hide strips. Three shell buttons are sewn to band at both sides of the eagle head.
Small dance apron of red and black felted cloth; the outer edge has a row of large shell buttons, with a row of smaller shell buttons inside. Three horizontal rows of off-white shell buttons top three strips of leather tassels and copper bells sitting on attached leather thongs and scalloped red felt. The waistband extends into ties to secure the apron around the body.
Wool jacket (part of a man’s costume, with 3052/25-32). Wool is a dark grey, with stitched decoration in orange, yellow, and red along seams, hem, cuffs and collar, as well as down the front opening. A line of heavy fringe in multiple colours falls down the front under the collar. Jacket closes with cord ties at the collar.
Headband (part of a girl’s costume, with 3052/1-8). A thin metal wire is wrapped with brown paper and covered with a variety of stiffened flowers in red, blue, pink and white, interspersed with green leaves. Each red flower has a centre of black wool with spots of white paint, while white flowers have centres made of yellow wool. The wire band is bendable.
Pearly queen costume skirt. Skirt is knee length, black, with side button closure at waist and kick pleating at hem. Skirt is heavily decorated with white plastic buttons, sewn on with black thread. The buttons are similar in size and patterned in horizontal lines of three rows interspersed with connected diamond shapes. The interior of the skirt has a black polyester lining.
