A green felt fabric beadwork purse with red beads along the sides. There is a red and white felt handle with green beads along the sides. The purse has a metal zipper with a red and white felt tag that has red beads forming the letters 'L', 'J', and 'L'. These letters are surrounded by lines of green, pink, and green beads. One side of the purse is decorated with an orange six-petaled flower outlined with blue and green on a white felt background with the sides surrounded by red, green, and red beads. The other side of the purse is decorated with a yellow beaded background with two red flowers outlined with light blue at the top corners, two clear yellow flowers outlined with pink and having a dark blue centre at the bottom corners, and a dark blue flower outlined with orange and accentuated with clear orange, clear yellow, dark blue, and purple-red beads in the centre.
Pair of man’s funeral shoes made of fine white leather. The sides are low, but there is an upward extension at the heel, which has a centre seam covered with five vertical cotton strings. Section covering toes is very short; the main body of each shoe is open. There is narrow piping finishing the vertical seam at the front of the toe section, and wider piping around the upper edge of the shoes. The soles are made of layers of natural brown leather slightly thicker at the toe and heel ends, and have numerous iron cleats at the front and heel. The soles are attached to the body of the shoes with a row of stitching around the edge of the soles, and there is a row of heavy, even stitches around the edge of the white leather. The shoes are lined with white leather, and have insoles of woven grey wool fabric.
Standing Kachina figure with stick across top of head, down from which extends wool and hair, white head with three black dots on face, alternating black and white ring around neck. Figure has torso with yellow on top and orange on bottom, white skirt with painted belt and apron, yellow legs with painted black ties around top, and grey boots with an orange, black and white design.
Open-top hood made of dark red silk damask with added ear-flaps of blue silk damask edged and lined with white rabbit fur and filled with grey cotton batting. The red damask is patterned with three roundels, each with two dragons surrounding a Chinese character. The blue damask is patterned with bat ? shapes and a Buddhist swastika. The hood is constructed of two halves sewn together at the centre of the forehead and centre back, but with an opening at the top edged with black piping ending with a short slit at the back. The hood is cut straight across the forehead with two deep scallops edged with black piping on each side. It is edged entirely with two layers of skin with black fur, one facing inside and the other facing outside. A flat red silk cord woven with green and gold geometric designs crosses the opening from front to back, ending at the back in an elaborate knot made of pink and dark blue cord, below which are five red tassels wrapped in gold thread. At the front there an elaborate double knot of gold, pink, and yellow cord, below which are seven red tassels wrapped in gold thread. The hood is lined with bright green felt, and has fragments of paper attached to it with long white running stitches.
Stiff hat with round brim and straight-sided crown narrowing to a flat top. Hat is solid blue nylon fabric inside and red wool slightly ribbed fabric outside. It has bands of rainbow striped fabric around the edge or brim, base of crown, top of crown, and up each side. The bands are outlined with woven undulating gold ribbon. Metallic sequins in floral and leaf shapes in green, silver, and gold are adhered to the surface. Long string attached underneath on both sides, on which are strung red, green, and white plastic beads. Small red cardboard cylinder on one side of base of crown.
Leggings, (a) and (b), are each somewhat rectangular shaped, of black cloth with five vertical bands of decoration sewn (alternating with black background). From top to bottom: a row of red fringes, a row of white rickrack, a band of crocheted light green, dark blue and red-brown zigzag, a band of gold metal rickrack sewn as a large horizontal zigzag, and a row of white fringe at the bottom. The bottom fringe on (a) is shiny and close-looped. The bottom fringe on (b) is dull white and open ended. Both (a) and (b) have three white ties sewn on both vertical edges (near top, at centre and near bottom) for a total of six white ties per legging.
Square wool textile made of two smaller, rectangular pieces machine sewn together. The design consists of orange, red and black geometric border on the top and bottom along with two central light red bands with an animal motif; all on a red ground.
Miniature unfinished hat still attached to five knitting needles. The top 2.5 cm of the chullu is a light white-brown colour, bottom 4.1 cm is red. One band of geometric shapes between two thin blue lines, and two narrow parallel rows of white zigzag, and blue square and white dot pattern. Ends of off-white wool are wrapped all around the needles.
Early knitting with the needles still attached. Mostly grey wool, with a dark red strip at centre. There are approximately 13 rows of knitting attached to five, small, double-pointed knitting needles. A small ball of grey wool has been pushed on to the end of the needles.
