Lidded Bowl3645/1 a-b

Small lathe-turned wooden bowl (part a) with a fitted lid (part b). Two rectangular panels are carved along exterior sides of bowl with formline designs that mirror one another; designs consist of ovoids with eyes and with teeth, and circles with small tapering triangles extending from the bottom edges. The ovoids with the teeth design are along the bottom edges of the panels with the circle designs above them. Small trigon and crescent cutouts along top and bottom edges of panels, toward centres. Panels and carvings done in mix of relief and raised styles. Interior of bowl is undecorated; small ledge for lid to rest on. Lid has a raised circular knob; short flange extends from bottom. Base of bowl has artist signature in pencil: "83 Cranmer".

Bentwood Box3641/1 a-b

Bentwood box (part a) with red painted corners and lid (part b). The box is lashed and sewn together with root along the seam. There is a notch cutout of the centre of the front panel. The lid has a carved geometric design on the top painted with red details and red corners that line up with the red corners of the box. There is a small x-shaped cut centred along the edge on the underside. Price penciled on interior with small adhesive price label overtop.

Model Totem Pole3650/1

Small wooden carving in the style of a model totem pole. Base is rectangular with the front corners rounded off; above the base is a carved animal head that appears to be a mountain sheep ewe, with straight horns pointing up; then a plain pole section; at the top is another carved animal head, a mountain sheep with curved horns. Both animals have round incised eyes. The back is flat and plain. The base has an ink inscription: "WHiTEHORSE Y.T. July 1962"

Shallow, circular husking basket woven from plant fibre; done with herringbone twill weave. Rim formed with two wood coils, wrapped in plant fibre; main body of basket secured between coils. Plant fibre wrappings dyed(?) a dark brown. Additional external and internal coils, undecorated, are underneath the wood rim, for reinforcement; held to rim with twisted cords. Body of basket is golden brown, coils are grey-brown.

Stool3643/12

Folding coconut shredder stool. Stool consists of two rectangular boards with slight zigzag profiles and cutouts in their centres; cutouts have angled edges. One board is inserted through the cutout of the other, allowing them to fold inward and outward; rest flat when folded inward, form a low "X" shape when folded out. The upper arms, that form the seat, are decorated with stain and incised geometric motifs. Pencil grid overtop each arm with central design of three interconnected diamonds, inside a vertically oriented rectangle, with diagonal lines extending from top and bottom corners; space between edges of diamonds and rectangle border are carved out. Edges of seat are stained(?) dark brown; checker pattern across centre, where arms meet. Extending from the front arm is a serrated blade. Blade is oval-shaped and is inserted into a rectangular protrusion that ends in a triangle-like base; area around top of rod is circled with metal. Triangle-like base of rod decorated with incised crisscrossing and diagonal lines. Lines, and edges of rod, are darkened with stain(?). Rest of stool is undecorated.

Sections of plant fibre wrap are darker than rest, forming a light striped pattern around opening of basket. Entire basket is naturally coloured a light yellow. Small metal loop is threaded through bottom edge.

Headrest3643/8

Circular wood headrest carved from a single piece of wood; three legs extend from bottom. Circular top is slightly concave and has a rounded bottom. Legs start cylindrical but curve outward slightly towards middle. Exterior sides of legs flare outward when they curve, forming triangles with rounded backs. Legs have small lips at foot and flat bases. Headrest is undecorated.
