Large rectangular lidded basket with handles and a tight weave. The basket body is deep with a wide mouth, narrowing to a smaller base, with imbricated diamond, triangle and arrow shaped patterns in colours of tan, dark brown and red-brown decorating all sides. The lid (part b) is flat and has a low profile. It is decorated with imbrication similar to that on the body. The basket has two half circle handles attached at the shorter sides, just under the rim (one reattached in 2019).

Mask3387/3

Large kifwebe mask carved with striated designs. The striations are painted in alternating colours, reddish-brown, black and off-white. The eyes, mouth, and nose extend outward, with a large fan-like crest extending back from the nose, between the eyes. The eye lids are semi-circular at top, with a rectangular cutout below. The mouth piece is rectangular, with a square cutout at the end. A neck covering extends down and flares outwards. Many small holes are drilled through at the edge of the mask. The back is red.

Figure standing with knees slightly bent, right hand holding a staff, and left hand holding a horn. The person wears a pouch across their body with the pouch sitting on the left hip, and a loin cloth. The figure is carved to have short curly hair tied back with a headband. The surface has flaking paint and the entire left foot is missing from the ankle, down. Each foot has a single hole drilled in the bottom.

Mask3387/1

Face mask. Shallow mask with rounded head that comes to a point at the chin. Narrow cutouts for eyes and slightly upturned mouth. The sides of the nose continue out on each side creating the brow ridge. There is a single hole on either side of the face, with a short length of twine attached. There is a single hole in the chin that does not go completely through the wood.

Drum3383/14 a-b

Double-headed cylindrical metal drum with off-white rawhide skins at both ends (part a). Interlaced skin ties stretch and secure the skins. A single strip of rawhide is wound through the ties around the centre with a looped handle. Curved wooden drumstick (part b) with flat head. A short length of plant fibre is tied behind the flat head and attached in a notch partway down the shaft.

Drum3383/10

Wood drum with reptile skin. The drum tapers in from the top, and then flares out to a wide base. The wood is plain on the upper portion, and carved on the base and then wrapped with three horizontal bands of animal skin. The skin is secured by adhesive. There are four raised additions in the centre of the drum skin, and a mark where a fifth was once attached.

Shield with designs carved in low relief on the concave front. The pointed top has a cross-like design painted white with black outline. The body has abstract mirrored M-shaped designs in red-orange, outlined in black, with white in the negative space. Back is plain except for a single black line painted horizontally across the shield above a large vertical carved handle. Large crack extending up from bottom edge.
