Cuffs for a Cantonese opera costume blouse. Heavily sequined cuffs with three metal snaps for attaching. The sequins make a flower pattern in gold and yellow. A square stamp enclosing Chinese characters can be found on the back of each cuff.

Cantonese opera costume blouse. Yellow blouse of a shiny satin-like fabric, with a small rounded neck. Blouse opens to the back with 5 hidden metal snaps for closure. A square stamp enclosing Chinese characters can be found in two places on the blouse. (Also see cuffs, parts b-c).

Cantonese opera gong beater. Small wooden beater is long and rectangular, tapering at the bottom with a blunt tip. A hole is bored at the top of the beater and has a metallic gold elasticized string through it. Three similar Chinese characters are written on the upper half of each side of beater, one side in black marker, the other in blue ink. The wood is very lightweight.

Fabric umbrella cover (parasol set) that hangs over a wooden umbrella support (2967/50 a-b). Cover is conical in shape, bright pink at top with a small collared hole in centre. Two light pink embroidered ribbons hang from the seam. The body of the cover is light green, decorated with embroidered birds, flowers and foliage, as well as metallic fibre sashes, and a regular pattern of gold-toned studs. At the bottom hangs many tassels in pink, yellow, orange, tan and light green connected to each other by a decorative woven net.

Two light green embroidered ribbons hang from the seam. The body of the cover is light pink, decorated with embroidered birds, flowers and coniferous plants, as well as metallic fibre bands, and a regular pattern of gold-toned studs. At the bottom hang many tassels in pink, yellow, orange, tan and light green connected to each other by a decorative woven net.

The fringe is white at top turning to grey and then black at the ends. Two black handles are attached to the top corners of the bag. The centre of the bag holds a black plaque with a white Chinese character sewn to the middle. The plaque is surrounded by a fine white braid and a boarder of blue. The back of the bag is thin white cotton.
