Circular basket (a) with flat bottom and raised knob lid (b); bottom checker worked and twined; body and lid wrapped twined. Reinforced cedar hoop rim; cedar warp and checker work; outer running weft in grass with bottom and inner fixed weft sedge fibre. Design on body includes thin bands of assorted colours and distinct, geometric motif around middle of body. Lid has matching geometric motifs and circles of assorted colours around knob; exterior faded and interior colours include blue, yellow, orange and black.

Outer running weft is grass, bottom and inner fixed weft is sedge family. Designs on body of basket include two bands of continuous rings of assorted colours. Geometric shapes repeated separately within band. Lid has same type of design in circles on top. Exterior faded; interior shows original orange, yellow, purple, blue and black.

Cylindrical basket (a) with flat, fitted lid (b); lid has a small, knob-like handle in the centre. Bottom twined; body and lid are wrapped twined; reinforced cedar hoop rim. Cedar warp with outer weft in grass (xerophyllum tenax). Bottom and inner fixed weft are sedge fibre. Designs on body of basket include thin bands of continuous rings of assorted colours and representations of people in canoes and ducks. The lid is decorated with ducks and rings of assorted colours. Exterior is faded; inside colours include; turquoise, brown, black, red, yellow and orange.

ButtonNb11.270

Tightly woven button with a grey circle at the centre with an alternating yellow and red border (one row). This is contained within a blue circular line. Two black thunderbirds are on each side of the central motif with five alternating yellow and orange triangles across the wingspan. Alternating red and yellow triangles are on the outer border of the button and green on the edge. Basketry continues on the reverse with a blue-grey outer border for two rows.

A rectangular carrying basket with a checker work base and two narrow strips, also plaited at top and bottom. The body is twined with imagery of a purple whale and bird on one side and purple canoe and birds on the other. The rim is wrapped and two handles are twisted. Strips of twining at the top and bottom, adjacent to the plaiting, are multi-coloured with the predominant one being purple.
