Basket462/1

Basket with circular, flat bottom and ovular rim. A loop handle formed from one of the warps goes lengthways across opening; handle is twined with same material as weft of basket. One band of lighter colourgoes around basket near the middle of the walls; a band of lighter stem is goes around the base.

Circular woven basketry mat, or tray, made in a coiled technique. There are four elongated diamond shapes that emanate from the centre to the rim. One opposite pair of diamond shapes are brown outlined with dark brown, and the other pair are light brown outlined with brown and dark brown. The background is light brown. The rim is brown with dark brown zig zags.

Hat with overall bell shape and strips of stem woven over lengths of plant stem at the top of the crown. The flared brim is composed of strips of plant stem coiled around lenths of plant stem secured in rows with thin strips of plant stem that run vertically down the sides of the brim. One short segment of the brim edge is indented slightly by one and a half rows. The edge of the brim is finished with braided strips of stem. Twined plant fibre strap inside.
