The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

D-shaped wooden handle with carved dog-like features at one end, and a pointed tail-like feature at the other. The handle grip bulges at the centre. The upper portion of the wooden handle is long, and then tapers on each side to the lower portion where it attaches to the blade. The repurposed axe blade has an 8 cm eye for a haft. The blade is attached to the handle by two nails - one at each end.
Large hammerhead shark figure made from reclaimed plastic fishing nets ("ghost nets"), plastic twine and rope. Figure has a partial metal frame inside.
Large metal dagger formed from a single piece of steel, narrowing at one end to form the handgrip. Grip area is overlaid with copper sheeting on both sides. The finial of the dagger portrays the head of a wolf, with rounded snout and eyes, and U-shaped ears and nostrils. Abalone shell inlay is used for eyes and the four ovoid shapes of the copper overlay. The handle is wrapped with a hide strip. The long end of the strip has a loop for being held over a wrist or thumb.
Belt is made of rawhide, with a heavy steel chain attached that holds 5 large cowbells. Central bell is the largest, with the two on either side decreasing in size. Bells have a wide handle by which they are attached to the chain, and a single encircling wave-shaped line of decoration at midpoint. Bells have black and silver metal clappers.
The metal is steel.
Small flint purse. Pouch is stiff leather, with a front flap outlined in decorative convex metal squares that surround three protruding decorations, two of which hold a turquoise stone. The flap covers an interior pocket meant to hold kindling or flint. At bottom of purse is a thick, curved, steel flint-striking platform inset with gold floral motifs. Top of purse is edged in metal with a squared loop holding a leather thong which would enable the flint purse to be hooked to a belt.
Knife made from thick steel cable. Thin strands of steel are wrapped into small cables, then joined with similar and twisted to make a thick rod. Knife handle retains the cable’s structure, and then is flattened, thinned and shaped to make a blade. Patterning of the twisted strands can be seen along the blade’s back and sides. Knife rises to a point at tip.
