Pair of black silk boots, or high shoes. Leather and cardboard platform sole, sides covered with white fabric, plain black uppers, with triple cording of black leather running up back, around line of normal shoe height, and up front, where it is doubled around a tin circle at the toe to produce a reinforced upturned false toe. Cotton lining. Cotton insole. Green band at junction of sole and upper.

Heel and sides of sole are covered with teal-coloured silk with multicoloured floral embroidery. Long tab of silk hangs from the back of the heel. Two fabric loops at either side of the ankle.
