Gong Beater1170/20

Beater with a straight, round, wooden shaft and a head of rubber tire coiled around one end of the shaft. Rubber is held in place by nails at either end of the coil.

A dark red-brown wood mask with dark brown hair for the eyebrows and moustache. The diagonal oval eyes are cu out and the nostrils are cut out. The curved upper lip is red and outlined with black. There are two white stub teeth in pink gums. The face is decorated with black curvy lines. Rubber is tied with string around the back through two small holes at either sides.

Round-bottomed, globular bowl with short, straight neck; one side of the neck is taller, bulbous, and is shaped into a face. Body is decorated with a wide band of geometric pattern in black, red-brown, and beige; face is decorated in black and brow with nose, eyes, mouth, chin, and ears in relief. Stand (part b) is a metal ring covered in rubber with three equidistant, metal legs.

Pair of arm bands for the lower arm shaped like cylinders tapering to the wrist. Arm bands are made of parallel lengths of bamboo with a circle of rubber inserted through holes in the bamboo lengths at each end, onto which are threaded bamboo cylinders that serve as spacers between the ends of the lengths of bamboo.
