Hand puppet of a 'Zé Sanfoneiro' or 'Cegao do Fole' (blind) character. Head and hands are carved from wood and painted. He has yellow-beige skin, a large nose, and an open mouth with light pink lips. His right eye is open, and his left eye is closed. His fabric body / tunic is a red with blue, light blue and golden-yellow flowers. The fabric covered foam tubes are adhered to the hands. Operated by inserting a hand inside the body of the puppet to control its head and movements.

Hand puppet of a 'José Adelson' character. Head and hands are carved from wood and painted. He has dark brown skin, large rounded and misshapen black eyes, thin rounded eyebrows, a large nose, thin black moustache, and a closed mouth with red lips. He wears a woven wide brim hat, with sides folded up. His fabric body / tunic is red with light blue, red and green floral pattern. The fabric covered foam tubes are adhered to the hands. Operated by inserting a hand inside the body of the puppet to control its head and movements.

Hand Puppet3381/28

Calungo hand puppet of a 'Noiva (bride) Benedita' character (the form is more similar to a doll than a puppet). The fabric body is off-white with attached black glove-like hands. Her facial features are drawn in felt with almond-shaped black eyes, thick eyebrows, small nose, smiling burgundy mouth and rosy cheeks. She wears a long white sleeveless dress. Her red-brown hair is tied up, and worn under a white veil with a large jewelled pink and white bow. She wears earrings and a necklace.

Calungo hand puppet of a 'Capitão João Redondo' or Captain John character. Head and hands are carved from wood. He has yellow-beige natural wood for skin, and painted oval black eyes, black hair and moustache, and red lips. He has a moveable lower jaw, hinged with leather both within the head and small straps on either side, and fishing line extending out from the chin down the front of his collar. His fabric body / tunic is black and white gingham. The fabric is nailed to the hands and head. Each hand has a single hole extending through the hand for possible accessories. Operated by inserting a hand inside the body of the puppet to control its head and movements.

String Puppet3351/6 a-g

Opera dei Pupi puppet of the character named Bradamante, who is a female knight. Three-dimensional marionette carved of wood (part a) with detachable head (part b) that is mounted on a long, hooked metal rod. She wears a pink tunic, off-white brocade pantaloons, and a pink velvet cape with a silver fringe. She wears full armour with separate arm, wrist, shin guards, and a detachable neck (part c) guard. The helmet has a visor and is decorated with light pink feathers. The left wrist has a length of black-brown cord tied to it, which attaches a small circular gold shield to the forearm. The right hand is clenched in a fist, which a small silver-coloured metal sword with a straight blade (parts d-f) is inserted through. The threaded end of the blade also inserts through the eye of one end of a long metal rod (part g) with an eye hook on each end. There is a metal band across the bottom of each heel. The body is jointed at the elbows, shoulders, and hips – held together by fabric underneath her outfit.

String Puppet3351/3 a-g

Opera dei Pupi puppet of the character named Ferraù. Three-dimensional marionette carved of wood (part a) with detachable head (part b) mounted on a long metal rod with a hook at the top. The face is painted with a black moustache and goatee, and grey wrinkles. He wears vertically striped green pantaloons and a tunic, red with gold applique leggings and shoulder bands, and a cape in black with grey brocade. He wears body armour including wrist and ankle guards, a neck guard (part c) and a helmet. The helmet is wrapped with braided yarn (yellow, pink and light purple-blue), tied at the back. The left wrist has a length of black-brown cord tied to it, which also attaches a small circular gold shield, with a six-point flower design, to the forearm. The right hand is clenched in a fist, which a small metal sword (parts d-f) is inserted through. The threaded end of the blade also inserts through the eye of one end of a long metal rod (part g) with an eye hook on each end. There is a metal band across the bottom of each heel. The body is jointed at the elbows, shoulders, and hips – with limbs held together by fabric underneath his outfit.

String Puppet3351/7 a-c

Opera dei Pupi puppet of the female character named Princess Angelica. Three-dimensional marionette carved of wood. The head (part b) is mounted on a long, hooked metal rod. The body is jointed at the elbows, shoulders, and hips – held together by fabric underneath main outfit. The left wrist has a length of black-brown cord tied to it, and the right wrist is tied with string to a long metal rod with an eye hook on each end. On her right ring finger, she wears a gold-coloured ring with a green jewel. She wears pink with silver damask top and pantaloons. A length of navy blue with peach floral pattern skirt is wrapped around the waist, and held with a belt of bright purple fabric adorned with sequins, and a row of beading hanging down. From her jeweled crown, a train woven fabric extends down. She wears a pair of beaded earrings, and a necklace (part c) around her neck. All the fabric is edged with gold applique. She has painted blue shoes with a flat tack or nail in each heel.

Rod Puppet3420/81 a-c

Large antelope puppet head (part a) with detached horn (part b), and a separate manipulation stick (part c). The face of the animal is painted in a plaid pattern of red, white, green and yellow squares with concentric V's on the forehead - red, black, white, green and yellow, and a white heart-shaped nose. The horns are both broken, with one detached. In between the horns is a small human figure with bright pink skin, wearing a beige tunic. The figure's arms are jointed at the shoulders, and are controlled by blue string. The manipulation stick is inserted into a rectangular hole at the back of the head.

Rod Puppet3420/95 a-d

Bird puppet with separate body (part a), head (part b) and wings (parts c-d). The body is carved from wood, with burgundy fabric covering the tail joint and extending down in a tube from below. There is a round slot at the top of the neck, which the head's manipulation stick is inserted into, and two small slots on the back to insert the wings. The bird has a large black beak with a red ridge down the top, white face with large circular orange eye, and large round crest extending out from the back of the head in red with black and yellow. The head is mounted on a long, wood manipulation stick that has a tube of burgundy fabric covering it. There is a plastic cord running down the centre that controls the beak.

Rod Puppet3420/87

Female figure puppet with moveable arms, holding strips of fabric in each hand. The figure wears a black headdress or has black hair that is divided in the centre, with a raised bump on either side. She wears a light yellow-green patterned tunic with a ring structure sewn inside around the waist. She has painted bright pink skin, black and white eyes, black eyebrows, black lips and a black line down the chin. The figure lacks legs. There are control cords running down the length of the torso.
